Bartonia: Journal of the Philadelphia Botanical Club

Bartonia, the journal of the Philadelphia Botanical Club, publishes articles about original research in plant systematics, plant ecology and plant conservation biology. Bartonia also publishes club news such as field trips reports, programs for the monthly meetings and the club membership list.

Bartonia has been published since 1909. It was named for William P. C. Barton (1786-1856), Professor of Botany at the University of Pennsylvania and author of the first local flora, Compendium Florae Philadelphicae (1818).

Availability On-Line

All issues of Bartonia are available free online through the Biodiversity Heritage Library. Bartonia is also available through JSTOR by subscription or pay per article.

The journal is is indexed through Biological Abstracts and BIOSIS Previews.

The subscription fee is $25 per year. For addresses outside the United States and Canada, there is a surcharge of $7 to cover shipping. This surcharge will be waived for institutions in least developed countries (as defined by the United Nations).
